Avalanche table

This table’s trestle base was inspired by the gentle curve of an aspen that has been molded by the forces of an avalanche. Its’ extreme environment has forced the tree to adapt by bending to the forces placed upon it, yet it is still strong and healthy. To form the curved stretchers in the base, eight - quarter inch slices are taken from a single board and laminated together to form the double curve. Then each stretcher is painstakingly cut, spokeshaved and joined so that it can be fastened to the trestle base. The table top is offered with either a natural edge or a milled edge.
